Understanding your subscription plan helps you get the most out of Nexus and choose the right tier for your needs.
How pricing works
Nexus plans are priced by AI conversations per month. A conversation is a unique customer your AI replies to within a calendar month — it resets at the start of each month.
There are two ways to power the AI:
- Managed (default): We provide the AI. You don't need any OpenAI account or key — it just works. Each plan includes a monthly conversation allowance.
- Bring your own key (BYOK): Connect your own OpenAI API key and get unlimited conversations and access to premium AI models — at the same plan price. You pay OpenAI directly for usage.
You can switch between the two at any time (see "Using your own OpenAI key" below).
Trial Period
When you first sign up for Nexus, you start with a free 7-day trial. Your trial includes:
- Access to all Nexus features
- No credit card required
- Up to 2 team members
- 1 messaging channel
- 100 AI conversations for the month (provided by us)
The countdown appears in your dashboard so you always know when it expires. When your trial ends, upgrade to a paid plan to continue. Your data is preserved — upgrading simply unlocks continued access.
Available Plans
Nexus offers three paid plans plus a custom Enterprise option. Conversation allowances apply to the Managed mode; connect your own key on any plan for unlimited.

Using your own OpenAI key (unlimited)
Bringing your own key unlocks unlimited conversations and premium AI models on any plan, at the same price.
To switch to your own key:
- Go to AI Assistants and open your assistant's settings.
- Paste your OpenAI API key into the API key field and save. We verify the key before activating it.
- Once a valid key is set on all your active channels, your account switches to unlimited automatically.
To switch back to Managed: remove the key from your assistant. To avoid any mid-month disruption, your unlimited access continues until the end of the current month, then your plan's monthly conversation allowance applies again.
You can see your current mode and this month's usage anytime under Settings → Organization.

Upgrading Your Plan
To upgrade from Trial or move to a higher tier, contact us at info@jack-ai.net (or use the Upgrade Plan button in Settings → Organization). We'll activate your new plan and confirm the details with you.
What happens to your data: Upgrading preserves all your data, conversations, leads, and team members. Nothing is lost.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need my own OpenAI key? No. By default we provide the AI (Managed mode) and your plan includes a monthly conversation allowance — most customers never touch an API key. If you want unlimited conversations or premium AI models, you can connect your own OpenAI key on any plan.
What counts as a conversation? A unique customer your AI replies to within a calendar month. Multiple replies to the same customer in the same month count as one conversation. The count resets at the start of each month.
What happens if I reach my monthly conversation limit? On Managed mode, new conversations pause until the next month. You can upgrade your plan, or connect your own OpenAI key for unlimited — either option restores service right away. Conversations already in progress are not cut off.
Can I change plans later? Yes. Contact info@jack-ai.net to upgrade or change your plan.
